Tells the story of the development of a successful engineering firm in Riverside, California, which perfected the making of machinery for manufacture of Venetian blinds (wooden, then steel, then aluminum). The Hunter-Douglas Company made machine tools and aluminum parts during World War II and the Korean War. Hunter Engineering Company developed the first successful commercial method of continuous casting of aluminum.
